This depends on the market and is also a personal preference. If you really love your home and location, it is usually worth staying in your existing home. We can remodel or add-on to it. Most people have been in their homes for at least a couple of years and with market values increasing, it can cost the same or more to buy new compared to what they currently have. Thus, making the decision to remodel worth it.

In most cases yes, it is worth the cost since you’ll have more square footage and that will raise your overall value. A small addition is going to cost more per square foot compared to a large addition and in the long run the value of your home will always increase over time.  When the time comes to sell, the increased value of your home can be more than the amount that went into the project.

Because each house and addition will be different, there is not a standard cost per square foot. The cost will depend on what type of addition you are interested in whether it’s a new bathroom, kitchen, bedroom, or general living space.  We provide free estimates so you don’t have to rely on inaccurate square foot prices.

Because each house and remodel will be different, there is not a standard cost per square foot. There are many factors that come into play when figuring out the cost of a remodel, such as the age of the house, what rooms are being remodeled, the price point of the fixtures, and other factors. But rest assured, we provide free accurate estimates so you don’t have to guess on the cost.

The general answer to this question is, yes! Most remodels happen because the space needs to be updated. Out of date spaces reflect a lower selling price. Remodeling is not only a win since you get to enjoy the new space, but you also get to recoup the costs when the time comes to sell. However, there is a high chance that you’ll love your newly remodeled home and won’t want to leave!

The cost to remodel a bathroom depends on the size of bathroom and also the fixtures that are being installed. Bathrooms where the fixtures are staying in the same locations cost less than bathroom remodels where we are moving walls, fixtures, etc. We’ve remodeled small bathroom for $2k-$5k and large master bathroom around $75-$85k. On average a hall bathroom will be around $10k-$20k and a master bathroom around $25k-$40k. Your bathroom could be completely different so contact us for a free estimate!

The cost to remodel a kitchen depends on the size and also the fixtures that are being installed. The biggest cost in kitchens is usually the cabinetry however we have a lot of options from custom cabinetry to high quality RTA cabinets that will save you money. Kitchens that keep the same layout will cost less compared to moving around walls, appliances, etc. We’ve completed full remodels on small kitchens for $15k-$25k and large kitchens that cost over $100k. On average, most kitchen remodels cost around $35k-$55k. Let us know and we’ll provide a free estimate for your kitchen.

Bathroom remodels can vary depending on the materials and the scope of work. Small bathrooms can be finished in the same week where large bathrooms might take a month or two. On average, most bathroom remodels take 2-4 weeks.

Kitchen remodels can vary depending on the materials and the scope of work. For example, if we’re moving lights and appliances we will also need to patch drywall and paint. In most kitchens we install stone countertops which usually take about 10 days from the time we template to the time they get installed. On average, most kitchens will take around 3-8 weeks.

You do not have to move out, however some clients choose to. We plastic and tape off areas to cut down on dust and we clean up every night however there can still be some dust and there will definitely be noise. If it’s a large project, it can be easier and faster if the house is vacant however we’ve had clients stay in their homes when tearing off roofs and adding a second story. The bottom line is we will work with you to try to accommodate whatever you choose to do.

Yes, we allow that and think it’s awesome that clients are willing to work on their own homes.

Yes, for sure. We do a lot of handyman jobs. It’s great for us to do these jobs as it helps us meet new people and get to know our evolving community.

Our standard estimates are fixed costs with allowances. There are no unknowns or hidden charges. The next FAQ will explain more about Allowances. Depending on the project we occasionally contract work as Cost-Plus which is the actual cost it takes plus a percentage, usually used if there are a lot of unknowns. If we do our job right the fixed cost with allowances should be the same as cost-plus. The only difference is with cost-plus you don’t know what the final amount will be until the project gets done. We haven’t met a client yet that doesn’t want to know what it’s going to cost upfront.

There are a lot of materials that vary in cost depending on brand, style, or finishes such as tile, flooring, faucets, cabinetry, etc. If you haven’t selected these items before we give you an estimate, no problem! Instead, we will include an allowance cost, or a budget amount, for each item. The amount included is usually what the average customer selects and we’ll adjust this amount to whatever you choose on the final invoice. If it costs less, you’ll save money and if it costs more, you’ll pay the difference. There are no upcharges on these allowances and before we order any of these materials, we will let you know what the cost will be compared to the allowance given. No surprise charges!

We love hearing this question! When we email you the estimate there is a “Review and Approve” button. This will take you to a page where you can approve the estimate. Once approved, we send over an invoice with the deposit. Our standard deposit is 25% and this allows us to purchase the required materials to start your project. However, we are pretty flexible and the deposit amount may be less depending on the job. Once this deposit is paid, our Office Manager will contact you and get you on our schedule along with helping you select any required materials.

Deposits allow us to purchase the materials needed to start your project. It also lets us know if you’re serious about working with us so we can secure your spot in our schedule. Our standard deposit is 25% however if it’s a larger project we don’t require that amount and is usually a fixed amount that we agree to. If it’s a small job that doesn’t really take many materials, we may not require a deposit either. We’re pretty flexible and want to make it work for you.

People ask us this all the time and it depends on our current schedule. We schedule jobs in the order that we receive them. We are typically out 1-2 months but it can be less or more. If it’s a really small job a lot of times we can fit these in between other jobs while we’re waiting for plans, permits, etc. If it’s an emergency, we’ll try to make time to get that done as soon as possible.

No problem, most clients usually have a couple of “Change Orders.” If there is something you would like changed, let us know and we can provide you a written cost beforehand so there are no surprises. If it’s a spur of the moment decision that needs to be done right away, we keep track of our time and materials and will include these Change Orders on the final invoice. The Change Order rates are written on the Estimates.

We collect a deposit before the project starts. If the project will take multiple months, we usually take monthly draws that include the amount of work completed up to that date. The final invoice will be sent once the project is completed and approved.

Yes, we always obtain lien waivers from subcontractors before we submit any payments to them. We want to make sure everything goes smooth and this is one way we can provide peace of mind to all.
